Born in Huddersfield, Fergus spent the first 12 years of his life growing up in West Yorkshire before moving to Dorset.
In his late 20s, Fergus developed a taste for endurance adventure, rowing the Atlantic Ocean in 2013/14, and has since in numerous several hundred km ultra marathons and other endurance events since then.
Fergus is now based in London, writes for titles including the following:
- FT How To Spend It Magazine (Friday 27th April 2018 – 2 page feature on Via Ferrara and 30km run in the canyons)
- The Evening Standard online;
- The Independent:
- Avaunt magazine;
- The Jackal;
- Polo Quarterly; and
- Outdoors Radar.
He also gives talks from time to time for schools, clubs and companies.
He takes any opportunity to enjoy getting outdoors, taking on physical challenges, and seeking out adventure.
The next challenge Fergus is training towards is the Trans Atlas Marathon, a 285km 6 day ultra marathon across the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. This is between the 12-22nd May 2017.
